POSITION SUMMARY
In the highly competitive retail marketplace, successful pricing is critical to the success of the organization. At Sears Holdings, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with other pricing professionals and cross-functional business partners across both the Kmart and Sears formats to analyze and form recommendations for various pricing actions. These actions will enhance our competitiveness and increase profitability. You will also contribute to the development of pricing strategies that will help our business units achieve long-term market share and profitability objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree (in progress)
High energy, enthusiasm, and excellent judgment
Strong sense of urgency and bias for action
Superior analytical, problem solving, and technical finance skills
Proven ability to perform pricing analyses
Proven ability to work well in cross-functional team environment
Strong leadership
Self-confident and assertive even in ambiguous situations
Innovative
Intermediate/Advanced Expertise with Microsoft Excel
Experience working in retail business preferred
Data extraction and manipulation skills required (relational database experience is a plus)
Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate in a business setting
Experience working with statistical software packages
RESPONSIBILITES
Obtains and processes company and competitive sales and price data needed to perform pricing analysis
Designs analytical framework
Creates model(s)/heuristic(s) to estimate price sensitivities
Uses model/heuristic to guide pricing recommendations
Creates and executes a test plan to evaluate the effectiveness of the model based pricing recommendations
Summarizes results and recommendations in executive presentation(s)
PAST PROJECT WORK COMPLETED
Pricing or closely related modeling
Estimating price elasticities for selected key value items in the Home Fashions business unit. Recommending improvements to promotional pricing of these items based on elasticity analysis and other insights gained from understanding of current merchandising strategy and market conditions.
Creating a pricing model for offshore markets (Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Virgin Islands). Understanding offshore pricing processes, estimating regional price elasticities for offshore markets, and optimizing price changes to account for cost differences and market/competitive positioning.
