Sears Holdings Management Corp The Analyst of Business Analytics performs disciplined and detailed reporting and analysis of customer data for the Sears Home Services Supply Chain group to enable the business to grow, engage, and retain its diverse customer base.
Provides fact-based data driven insights on customer behavior and lifetime values that directs change in the business and drives incremental revenue.
The Analyst of Business Analytics gathers requirements for specific analysis, and presents completed work to the business.
This position helps validate and improve processes and profitability by identifying opportunities evident in the data and proactively suggesting new ways to look at business problems.
Job Requirements JOB DUTIES/
Responsibilities:
o Executes concise and actionable business reporting with actionable customer insights.
o Works with team members and business partners to define requirements for analysis and reporting to implement more profitable best practices.
o Gathers data, applies analytic methods, and synthesizes conclusions into recommendations.
o Presents findings to manager and business partners.
o Anticipates what additional questions may be asked based on the findings and ensures data set is constructed to answer those questions quickly if requested.
o Develops, maintains and enhances reporting and analysis processes to help improve profitability, business processes, and member experience and retentiono Prepares documentation for developed analysis to support business strategies.
o Serves as a team leader for automation, stream-lined processes and technical best practices.
May work with offshore resources to implement automated frequent ad-hoc requests.
o Identifies and communicates data inconsistencies.
Takes initiative to determine root cause and make recommendations for resolution.
o Uses analytics to provide business recommendations to management and advise business partners.
o Sets up experimental designs to answer business questions.
Creates business financial models or test plans as needed to enable businesses to understand the value of specific promotional tactics.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
o BS/BA in Economics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or other related fields.
MA, MS, or MIS a plus.
o 3 5 years prior professional data mining and/or business analytics.
o Must have extensive experience executing SQL queries of advanced complexity.
Teradata SQL experience is a plus.
o Strong understanding of Relational Databases.
Marketing Retail database is a plus.
o Must have reporting or business analytics experience.
Marketing metrics experience a plus.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
o Highly proficient in SQL, SAS or other data mining packages.
