Sears Holdings Management Corp The Consultant, Assoc Relations provides Human Resources advice and counsel for associates, HR professionals, and managers on moderate to complex associate relations and human resources issues.
This position analyzes and resolves associate relations issues and counsels business managers on issues such as management practices, misconduct, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
Uses judgment to analyze facts in accordance with the Termination Matrix to approve or recommend termination of employment as a result of violations of policies and procedures for all companies included in the Sears Holdings enterprise.
Job Requirements Job ResponsibilitiesActs as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues relating to assigned business units.
Coaches managers on how to assess and drive performance with regard to Business Unit and company overall goals and metrics & effectively integrate HR processes, policies & practices into their daily operations.
Provides advice, guidance, and professional support to managers and associates with respect to interpretation and application of associate relations and associated policies, practices, and procedures.
Coaches and advises unit and HR associates and managers on how to properly conduct investigations concerning workplace violence, harassment, discrimination and various forms of inappropriate behavior or misconduct in the workplace.
Performs investigations of alleged misconduct and harassment in the workplace by engaging with other HR departments, Legal and Legal Compliance, Asset Protection and other applicable departments as needed.
Compiles and analyzes investigation information, completes investigation and recommends next steps, prepares detailed report(s) of the investigation and notifies the appropriate leaders of the outcome of the investigation.
Remains current with changes to HR policies & procedures, business initiatives, and employment laws and regulations.
Interfaces and partners with other departments and businesses to prescribe next steps in the review and analysis of case documentation, providing recommendations of the issues and case resolution.
Advises clients on inquiries related to employment disciplinary actions and employment decisions.
Ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards and supports the law department in defending the company in employment litigation.
Represents the company in cases which require depositions and expertise in the area of associate relations and employment decisions.
Maintains documentation and updates cases in the HR Case Management System.
Serves as a critical partner in the identification, communication and follow through with the appropriate Business Unit HR partners related to trends and patterns identified in cases.
Interfaces and partners with HR and other company departments and business units to ensure timely and efficient resolution of HR issues.
Builds and establishes relationships and rapport.
Carries, monitors and answers the ASO emergency cell phone, on a rotational basis for afterhours and weekend emergencies.
Creates and manage HR cases in the case management system for critical calls.
Job Required SkillsBachelor's Level Degree or equivalent work experience3

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
